Are you able to enjoy the big moments in your life?

Are you able to enjoy the big moments in your life? Or do you stress out, overanalyze, withdraw, or even self-sabotage?

We have all been there to some degree or another. We have these images in our head of where we want to be, either physically or figuratively.

It might be closing the biggest of the contract of the Quarter in your team, region or even company. It could be a massive marketing event you've been driving people toward for the past couple of Quarters or even a new business meeting you secured with an Executive that has been evading you.

Outside of your job you could be playing in a cup final or racing for a gold medal at the weekend, you might have plucked up the courage to propose marriage to your partner, having a child with them or simply meeting someone who means a great deal to you that you haven't seen for a while.

All of these are big moments, moments that you are highly invested in - on an emotional and practical level. Youv'e put in a ton of hardwork and more than likely made a bunch of sacrifices to realise them. For sure, you want them to go well and you feel extremely vulnerable. If you didn't you would be wired wrong.

My advise to you is simple. Trust yourself, this is where you wanted to be. Remember? This is the goal you set for yourself and now you are here. This is what you worked so hard for. Trust your hard work, trust your sacrifices, if you don't who will.

Sure, shit can go wrong, so what, you can't control everything. If that happens, learn from it. Be humble and grow.

There comes a point with every journey, no matter how difficult, when you have done all you can do. Everything you could control or you could influence has been accounted for. It is in this moment when you have to make the switch from "work hard/sacrfice" mode and into "relax/enjoy" mode, otherwise you risk being passed by... not just by the big moment itself but the people you intended to share them with.

Relax and enjoy the moments you work hard for. Otherwise, what is the point?
